Did you watch the Wimbledon Finals over the weekend? Phew. I was exhausted watching them and I was just sitting at home in my comfy armchair.
Roger Federer became, statistically, the greatest player in the history of the game when he beat Andy Roddick 5-7, 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 16-14. He now holds 15 Grand Slam titles, which puts him one ahead of the legendary Pete Sampras, (who was at Wimbledon to see history in the making). I think many people, including Pete, would have been shocked to see his record broken so quickly but that is testament to the quality of Roger Federer. Also fascinating to see that Roger hit 50 aces, (5 off the record for the most aces in a match). Roger, many congratulations from all your friends at EA.
And on Saturday, Serena v Venus, another class performance from Serena to beat her big sister, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2. Serena now holds 3 out of the 4 Slam Titles. That is a tremendous feat. Serena now has 11 Slam titles. And after their final, they teamed up to win the Ladies Doubles Final. The Williams sisters are a cut above the rest.
Don’t you just love Tennis…we do! Did you predict the results via EA Grand Slam Tennis? Let me know your views on the finals and whether you think Federer is the greatest of all time?

Congratulations from EA to Roger Federer and Andy Roddick for winning through their semi finals today, ready to face each other in the Men’s Wimbledon Final on Sunday. Obviously many in Britain are upset and shedding tears as their hero Andy Murray was defeated today. But he is young, he will regroup and most agree that he will be a Wimbledon Champion one day.
First up was Roger Federer v Tommy Haas and Federer was on fire and gave a Masterclass performance. The five-time champion has reached his seventh straight final at Wimbledon after overcoming the 24th seeded German 7-6 (7-3) 7-5 6-3 and now has the chance to land a record-breaking 15th Grand Slam.
Murray strode confidently onto Centre Court feeling it was his year but Andy Roddick proved too strong and played some inspirational Tennis. Roddick won 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (7-5). Scintillating tennis.
Well Sunday will see whether Federer can win his 15th Grand Slam or whether it is Roddick’s time.
Have a great weekend all…I am off to play Grand Slam Tennis and see who wins.

Roger Federer equalled Pete Sampras’ record of 14 major Grand Slam Titles when he clinched his first French Open Championship on Sunday. Now the question is can he go one better and win a 15th title and become ‘the greatest ever’? Maybe even at Wimbledon? But Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray will have something to say about that!
Coinciding with all this excitement in the run up to Wimbledon later this month, EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis comes out this week on the Wii, utilising Wii MotionPlus technology. Very cool! We have spoken a lot about this title recently, hence you can read earlier blogs but one things for sure I will be looking forward to recreating a Pete Sampras v Roger Federer final.
