I was able to catch a bit of studio-fun in the sun when EA Sports in Burnaby, British Columbia hosted a Fight Night4 and Grand Slam Tennis launch party on the soccer field.  The sun was out, the fun was on.  I tried my hand at boxing and I even got to play some lawn tennis and then BEACH tennis on the sand volleyball court.  Have a look. What a cool day……and a cool place to work!

    Cheers, EArl

Did you watch the Wimbledon Finals over the weekend?  Phew.  I was exhausted watching them and I was just sitting at home in my comfy armchair.

Roger Federer became, statistically, the greatest player in the history of the game when he beat Andy Roddick 5-7, 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 16-14.  He now holds 15 Grand Slam titles, which puts him one ahead of the legendary Pete Sampras, (who was at Wimbledon to see history in the making).  I think many people, including Pete, would have been shocked to see his record broken so quickly but that is testament to the quality of Roger Federer.  Also fascinating to see that Roger hit 50 aces, (5 off the record for the most aces in a match).  Roger, many congratulations from all your friends at EA.

And on Saturday, Serena v Venus, another class performance from Serena to beat her big sister, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.  Serena now holds 3 out of the 4 Slam Titles.  That is a tremendous feat.  Serena now has 11 Slam titles.  And after their final, they teamed up to win the Ladies Doubles Final.  The Williams sisters are a cut above the rest.

Don’t you just love Tennis…we do!  Did you predict the results via EA Grand Slam Tennis?  Let me know your views on the finals and whether you think Federer is the greatest of all time?

Congratulations from EA to Roger Federer and Andy Roddick for winning through their semi finals today, ready to face each other in the Men’s Wimbledon Final on Sunday.  Obviously many in Britain are upset and shedding tears as their hero Andy Murray was defeated today.  But he is young, he will regroup and most agree that he will be a Wimbledon Champion one day.

First up was Roger Federer v Tommy Haas and Federer was on fire and gave a Masterclass performance.  The five-time champion has reached his seventh straight final at Wimbledon after overcoming the 24th seeded German 7-6 (7-3) 7-5 6-3 and now has the chance to land a record-breaking 15th Grand Slam.

Murray strode confidently onto Centre Court feeling it was his year but Andy Roddick proved too strong and played some inspirational Tennis.  Roddick won 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (7-5).  Scintillating tennis.

Well Sunday will see whether Federer can win his 15th Grand Slam or whether it is Roddick’s time.

Have a great weekend all…I am off to play Grand Slam Tennis and see who wins.

Congratulations to both Serena and Venus Williams for winning their semi-finals today and facing up to each other for another classic Williams sisters Wimbledon Final.  Classic.

First up Serena showed her battling class.  Wow what a epic semi final it was between Serena and Elena Dementieva.  Williams saved a match point in the 10th game of the deciding set before prevailing 6-7 (4-7) 7-5 8-6 in two hours and 49 minutes on a sun drenched and picturesque Wimbledon Centre Court.  A thrilling semi-final.

Next up on centre Court was Venus Williams vs Dinara Safina, (the world ranked number 1).  This match was quicker than sister Serena’s and Venus stamped her class and authroty in a 6-1 6-0 Victory in a little under 51 minutes.

Wow, who will win the Ladies Wimbledon Final?  I am off to recreate the final on EA Grand Slam Tennis.

Congratulations to both Serena and Venus from EA.
