President Barack Obama made a speech to the AMA, (American Medical Association), this week.  For the full text of his speech, please click through here to the Wall St Journal’s blog.  http://tinyurl.com/klu8gj

Obama spoke on videogames and was quoted as saying: ‘The second step that we can all agree on is to invest more in preventive care so that we can avoid illness and disease in the first place. That starts with each of us taking more responsibility for our health and the health of our children. It means quitting smoking, going in for that mammogram or colon cancer screening. It means going for a run or hitting the gym, and raising our children to step away from the video games and spend more time playing outside’.

In other speeches, Obama has frequently linked video games to academic underachievement.

What’s your view?  Do ‘games’ / a gym workout in a box, like EA Active help dispell this notion of unhealthy gamers?

Last week I blogged on EA Active…..I wanted to share this video of Lauren Berat taking part in a 30 day challenge.   Phew, makes EArl feel tired watching this in my cosy armchair.  As you can see—-this genuinely raises a sweat and is great for a workout.

Did you see Allison Sweeney demoing EA Active on Ellen—if not—this is a blast…enjoy
