Continuing our theme of taking you behind the scenes, today we look behind the doors of Rupture, based in sunny California, USA.

How much do you know about Rupture?  Well, they are a Cross-Publisher, Cross-Platform Data Aggregator and Publisher.  Rupture is the social platform that showcases your gaming life.   Gamers can find and interact with each other easily using social features and can build a complete gamer profile that spans multiple platforms, games, personal stats and achievements.

    Rupture is:
    • a social networking service for gamers
    • a billboard for players’ activities and achievements.
    • a new way to discover games.
    • a new way to challenge yourself and your friends.

Rupture is open to all platforms, all publishers, all games.

Shawn Fanning, the creator and founder of Napster and Snocap, founded Rupture in June 2006. A huge fan of online gaming, Fanning found himself frustrated by the lack of connection between players. He established Rupture to help establish communication between players, find out what they’re playing, and provide a showcase where they could display their accomplishments.

In May 2008, Rupture was acquired by Electronic Arts. However, the acquisition did not change our mission: Rupture remains committed to supporting every game platform and every game publisher. As far as Rupture gamers are concerned, EA is just another game company out of the many you’ll find on the site.

‘We’re not done’—Rupture has evolved since its founding, and in that spirit, they continue to develop exciting new features and game-changing services.
