Following on from the great insight article into how EA Canada gives back to the community by Wendell Harlow, Manager, EA Outreach and Corporate Giving Canada posted here : http://tinyurl.com/lmm7ly we have received many requests on providing more detail into how EA helps and gives back on a Global basis.
Over to …. Julie Wynn, the Manager, EA Outreach & Corporate Giving, US. Julie has been superb and provided us with a great video and pictorial overview into how EA is giving back across the Globe.
Before the cool video and pictorial overview, it is worth noting some basic stats eg to give a flavour, in the USA, Matching Gifts and Corporate Grants for CY 2008…..
- Employees donated $350K to local non-profit organizations and EA matched those donations to total to $700K donated into the community.
- EA made corporate grants totaling $600K to schools and nonprofit organizations that benefit underserved youth 17 and below in 2 areas: academic programs (math, computer science, multi-media, music, art and animation) and compassionate programs (children’s hospitals, terminal children’s wishes, etc.)
The video and the relating pictures below, truly demonstrate how Outreach is core to EA and is a truly Global activity including such events as:

@chels I know what you mean, its hard to find good help these days. People now days just don’t have the work ethic they used to have. I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn’t write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
I used this after trying many supplements. I would recommend this all day long. I found that it was best product around for what your paying, tastes nice, and you can notice the difference in strength and size when using it. Great site too ) !!!

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

You pose a hard question. It really comes down to what you want to do. If youre most interested in holing up in your room, then Id say go to Occidental. It has a lovely Shangri-La feel to itvery far removed from civilization. Healdsburg is a better choice if you want something more active. You can hit a few wineries, then walk around the Plaza to sample goodies from the local gourmet groceries. As for Sonoma, well, I love Beltane Ranch. Check it out on the Sonoma page of the site. Staying in town is also fun because you can walk around, and of the three destinations, its the closest to the city.
