    Imagine ….

     .

4.8 million people living on a tiny dot of the world map.

    .

Being part of a melting pot of ideas, culture, and people.

    .

A paradise with no seasons in the year (just rain and shine)

    .

No matter which part of the world you are reading this from right now, if you have ever contemplated change and want to experience a new way of life in exotic Asia, then this sunny island (i.e. Singapore) might be the place for you.

Other interesting trivia about Singapore include ….

    .

Singlish: That’s right, you just read the word Singlish correctly (it is not a typo error). Singlish is a form of English spoken in Singapore by peppering it with local slangs in Mandarin, Malay or even Tamil. Some examples of Singlish words include “lah” or “lor”. Interestingly, the Oxford English dictionary has included some Singlish words among its entries.

    .

Merlion: Considered a national icon, the Merlion is an imaginary creature with the body of a fish and the head of a lion. The name comes from the merging of the words “mermaid” and “lion”. What many people may not know is that the fascinating Merlion has also made its way into the computer games industry. If you have ever played Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Gamecube, you would have met the Merlion.

Durian: Also known as the “King of Fruits” in Southeast Asia, a durian is a green tropical fruit which grows only in humid and hot areas. The two most distinctive characteristics of the durian are its thorn covered husk and its strong odour. Smelling and eating a durian evokes extreme reactions from sheer heavenly delight to overpowering disgust and can best be described as an acquired taste. It is not for the faint hearted so proceed at your own peril. You have been warned!

I’m in the same boat too. I think it would be wild and have heard great things about the city, the schooling and the culture.
